WWDC 2012 Keynote Update!

Specs fo the new 15 inch Macbook Pro.

So far the presentation has gone as expected for me atleast. The Macbook Air was slightly refreshed with a better processing chip Ivy Bride, however, the Macbook Pro 15 inch has been totally updated and stole the show. The 13-inch MacBook Pro spec upgrade costs $1199, while the 15-inch will sell for $1499. The 15-inch is offered in $1799 and $2199 models with beefier quad-core chips. The outwards design of these upgraded MacBook Pros have stayed the same. If you are wondering about the specs of these models, check out the picture to the right.

OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Shipping in July!

Sticking to the Mac theme here, Apple announced that OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion will ship in July and will be available for 19.99, which is $10 dollars cheaper than OS X 10.7 Lion was. The only catch is that Mountain Lion will not ship with the new updated Macs, but if you purchase one from now until the release date, you get Mountain Lion free of charge.

So there you have it, WWDC 2012 is still under way and talking about iOS at the moment. Catch up with you all later. Peace Apple Nation!

iOS 6 Beta already out?

Cruising through the blogs on a late saturday night can be kinda boring. Well, watching paint dry can be a lot more fun. But i came across something very interesting. Someone posted a link to a video on youtube showing a video that demonstrates a user using iOS 6 Beta 1 Build 10A010 (according to the user of the video). I know that this cant possibly be real can it? I am a jailbreaker myself and I understand tweaks and things like that, so thats whats got me scratching my head. Is this in fact real????

Predictions for Upcoming WWDC 2012

Well, it is that time of the year once again for all you crazy Apple lovers. Yep, I am talking about the Worldwide Developers Conference 2012 and if you buy into all the hype, this maybe the most anticipated WWDC since 2007 with the introduction of the iPhone. What exactly is being hyped up and what will be introduced remains to be seen. However, here is a list of what should be dropped next week and I’ll throw in some hopefuls as well:

WWDC 2012, “Where great ideas go on to do great things.”
What Should be Introduced:
  1. Updates to the Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, iMac, and Mac Pro. (Released July 6th??)
  2. With updates to the Mac, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion to go with updated Mac’s . (Also released July 6th, late summer perhaps?)
  3. iOS 6 is introduced with iCloud enhancements, Notification widgets added, Facebook integration.
What Maybe be Introduced:
  1. iTV maybe talked about some, atleast the OS if they are in fact making iTV’s.
  2. Different sizes for the iPad in terms of a 7 inch iPad Mini along side the New iPad.
  3. The iPhone 5 introduced with a larger size, better front facing camera, LTE, better battery life, possibly a new design.
All of these suggested and anticipated products are strictly rumors and final products remain to be seen. Knowing Apple and Tim Cook’s very intriguing D10 conference interview, I would not be surprised if something unknown is dropped. What that may be, I dont have a clue. So what are you looking forward to? Does this list match up with yours? And is this the most anticipated WWDC you can remember besides 2007? Let us know in the comment box below and dont forget to follow us on Google+, Facebook, and Twitter for all your Apple News. Peace!!

Leaked Specs for the Macbook Pro?

Rumors and part leaks for Apple products are nothing new. From iPhones to iPods, to iPads and the Mac line up, product leaks always generate a lot of attention from users, fans, and critics alike. On the eve of the WWDC, a photo taken and posted onto the internet revealed the potential specs of the MacBook Pro 13 inch. From what many can tell, this seems very legit with people both current and form Apple employees backing the claim.
(Rumored) Leaked specs for the Macbook Pro.
What has so many people upset is that the new MacBook Pro, if the specs are true, has very dull changes to it including a lack of a high resolution screen and remaining attached to SSD. I understand people want change, want upgrades to the MBP line up and I believe they will receive them. What Apple is trying to do in my opinion is slowly axe the old MBP line up in favor of a slimmer, lighter, higher res screen MBP 15 inch. If you sit down and think about it, the concept seems right, give people the cheaper option of a MBP while pushing out new technology. Apple has done this before with the aluminum Macbook along side the White Macbook in 2008 and they do this with the iPhone offering an older model while pushing the new technology.
While I certainly am not ecstatic about an incremental update for the 13 inch MBP, a model i use and love, I understand what Apple is attempting to do. So for those upset over this mediocre update, get over it and buy the 15 inch MBP that should be unveiled Monday, June 11th at 4 pm est/ 1 pm pst. Until then, lets all take a breather and see what happens. We have a long way to go before the WWDC next week.

Jailbreak Tweak makes iPad Notification Center look Weak

MountainLionCenter jailbreak tweak for
the iPad.

Apple’s initiative to bring several highly notable iOS features “back to the Mac” is one of the hallmarks of its upcoming release of OS X Mountain Lion. One of the most touted iOS features to make its way to Mountain Lion is Notification Center. Notification Center on the Mac works similar to the way it does on iOS, with a few noted differences.

One of the main differences is the location of Notification Center — on the Mac it is docked and hidden on the right-hand side of the screen. Wouldn’t such change be welcomed to Notification Center on the iPad? I say this, because in its current form, it’s placed square in the middle of the screen no matter the orientation. In fact, it’s sort of like an afterthought.

MountainLionCenter is the upcoming jailbreak tweak that plans to change this, placing it more in line with the way Notification Center works on OS X Mountain Lion. For more details, watch our full video walkthrough at our Whats new for iOS page.

Siri Coming to the iPad?

A mock-up of Siri running on an iPad.

Happy Monday Apple fans, as you may be aware of, the WWDC isn’t far away and rumors continue to fly around. According the 9to5mac, Apple is working on version of Siri to run on the iPad that would drop with iOS 6 presumed to be this fall. Apple initially introduced Siri to the world via the iPhone 4S. Since day one, many iPhone 4 and iPad 2 fans have been wondering if Apple would or even could add Siri to their device. While the rumor of Siri coming to the iPad is heating up, the trail that leads to the knowledge of which iPad model will run Siri is growing colder.

According to 9to5mac: “Siri on the iPad is activated by a quick hold of the home button, just like on the iPhone 4S. The interface slides up from below the display with a clever animation. Siri is built into the iPad as a small window on top of whatever interface the user is currently interacting with. This Siri window with rounded corners sits at the bottom center of the display, as you can see in our mockup above. The Siri iPad interface takes very little space over the iPad interface currently in use, and is designed with the same linen texture as on the iPhone. Siri for iPad also works from the lock screen”
Siri coming to the New iPad  makes a lot of sense. The “iPad 3” has all the specs including voice dictation, a small version of Siri, that makes a very legitimate case for having Siri fully implemented on it. Much like how Apple handled multitasking and iOS 4 for the iPad to hype the release of iOS 4 which generated a lot of sales, I believe Apple is using the same tactic with Siri and iOS 6. What do you think is going on? Do you buy Siri coming to the iPad? Let us know in the comment box and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Peace Apple Nation!!

Weekend Rumors, Facebook in iOS 6 and More!

iOS 6 has been rumored to have both Twitter
and Facebook integrated into the OS.

Well the weekend for reporting Apple news can be a lot like watching paint dry on a wall. Well, maybe that is far more entertaining. However, interesting and heated debates have sparked over several news stories involving Facebook, MobileMe, and rumors of a Point and Shoot camera. Lets break it down shall we?
  • Lets discuss the whole Apple loves Facebook rumor that has been flying around causing very heated discussions. After this years AllThingsD D10 conference, its no secret Apple and Facebook are on a deeper level than just talking, yet no one really knows whats going on. Thanks to the guys down at MacRumors, people have been screaming bloody murder about the “possibility,” note the wording possibility, of having Facebook integrated on some level with iOS, assumed much like Twitter. Yes, Facebook isn’t exactly the darling of the Stock Market and the cults of privacy, but 500 million plus, including myself, use Facebook to communicate with friends and family across the global. Apple isn’t stupid, they will make it OPTIONAL, so shut up, calm down, and take this rumor with a grain of salt.
  • On a less heated but still important topic to some, Apple is killing off MobileMe for good and giving those users who have yet to switch to iCloud 30 days. I guess this isn’t really all that big a deal because iCloud was introduced about this time last year, so this is expected. But I get it, i used MobileMe, so it is a sad day to see this go. But iCloud is pretty decent, so its time to move forward, i guess.
  • Now for the last rumor of the weekend, I cant believe I am talking about this, another crazy story from MacRumors talked about Apple venturing into the Point and Shoot business (P&S). Ok, before I break the code of ethics when it comes to journalism about being biased and negative, I just want to say this makes some sense. Apple is all about cameras, capturing the moment, and then using other Apple devices to make you feel like a pro and an Artist (cough cough instagram photographers, which I am one of them). They could do this, run iCloud on it with Photo Stream and some version of iOS. But in all seriousness, just stop, stop it, these stories make me nauseous from laughing so hard. Apple re-entered the camera business way back with the iPhone back in 2007 and every year have made it better. My iPhone 4S takes wonderful photos and videos? Wow, they look amazing. To make a P&S is possible, but highly, I mean highly unlikely. So just stop, seriously. Next!!??
Ok, so there you have it, all of the weekends craziest stories, on the eve of Sunday. Looking forward to more crazy stories from the boys and girls down at MacRumors leading up to the WWDC this June. Let us know what you think of these rumors. Do you like them, hate them, or do you just don’t care at all. Have a fun, safe, and Apple filled weekend and see you all commenting on Monday. Peace Apple Nation!

Why Apple Will Make an iTV!

Rumors of an iTV have been nothing short of plentiful in the last year. Many blogs across the net, Apple related and non Apple related, have weighed in on the concept of an iTV like Boy Genius Report, Engadget, and PCMag. For the most part these have all been just rumor talks and speculations as to if and when Apple will release an iTV. But thats not what I want to talk about today. No, I want to focus in on why Apple should and will release an iTV:

A mock-up of a iTV, looks very believable.

  • Apple already has an Apple TV, they have an eye on TV and know they can do it better. Apple has always striven to revolutionize daily lives such as the Mac, followed by the iPod, the iPhone, and now iPad. Adding a TV to that mix makes sense.
  • People buy TV’s usually every 2-4 years depending on several circumstances. This falls right into the yearly, or every other year update that Apple likes to achieve with their products. Beyond that, Apple has the mobile software to make internet TV’s of today look like a giant joke. Yes, TV’s are always changing, but a 1080p, 120 htz HDTV with a great OS that actually works can and will last longer than just a few months. If Apple does it right, they could take the TV to a whole new level.
  • Speaking about terrible UI on Internet TV’s, has anyone ever really wanted to use them? Seriously, they are slow, clunky, ugly, and unusable. Samsung has done a great job with a newer OS adding Skype and a Xbox Kinect like gestures. This is what I believe Apple could do, but better and here is how. They add a modified version of iOS with FaceTime, Weather, Stocks, iMessage, and Mail all controlled by Siri, hand gestures, or using Air Play on any mobile iOS device as a remote to send messages, play content, or game.

I believe Apple is in fact working on an iTV that will take a TV and make it the central hub of communication and entertainment that will change how we look at TV’s. The potential for an iTV to replace Apple TV and expand even further into the Market makes this a very smart prediction. However, only time will tell if Apple will indeed ever release an iTV. We will certainly know more after this years WWDC. Well thats all I have folks, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and on Facebook. Peace Apple Nation!
